This Week’s Date Tip
Never trust a person who’s photos on their online dating profile are of them only in sunglasses. 90% chance they are cross eyed. 10% chance they have a girlfriend.

Check it out! I was featured on an internet radio show called The Naked Truth About Dating, hosted by the amazing *flirt expert* Rachel DeAlto.
The show focuses on three of the top issues facing singles – 1) Where to meet people, 2) How to snag that special someone, and 3) How to pace the relationship so it doesn’t fizzle out!

“This is pretty tricky. The problem with online dating is that things we consider in “normal world” to be preferences can be miscommunicated as dealbreakers in “online world.” Single parents are in a bad position online, since most members tend to default browsing members without children. That said, if you are a single parent, you’re sort of a package deal! Whoever dates/marries you is also dating/marrying your kids. Yes, you should be up front about your package deal. You should also devote a paragraph in your profile describing the relationship you have with your kids. You essentially want to meet someone who’s cool with you being a single parent. They’ll understand that your priorities are different, and those are the dates that usually fare for more appreciation of your schedule and energy.” - Maria Avgitidis (Read more…)

Maria Avgitidis – No.
My number one rule to my members who come for matchmaking is, “No Facebooking before a first date!” Someone you barely know does not need to know what you looked like 4 years ago, let alone what all of your interests are in regards to entertainment and hobbies – save that information for the first date! Plus, you’ve both probably still got photos of your ex you’ve forgotten to “untag” or delete. Why bother bringing in the drama of insecurity so soon into a relationship? In fact, if you do begin dating, don’t friend them. Ever. (Read more…)

I live for things like this.
NSFW because you’re going to laugh so hard, your boss will know your messin’ around online instead of inputing random figures into an Excel sheet.

“Date a girl who travels. Make her feel safe, warm, and secure. Make her believe that no matter where she goes, and however long she’s gone, you’ll always be there for her, the one that she can call home.”

It’s Sunday… so I’ve been on OKCupid all day.
I’ve been editing my guy friends’ OKCupid profiles all day.
It’s pretty hilarious how men seem to write their profile for other men, not their audience, which is actually women.
Gentlemen, you don’t need to tell women everything! You need to tell her just enough to be willing to respond to your messages or give her enough ammunition to engage with you first.
She doesn’t need to know that you collect baseball cards or how you’re sharing your apartment with your sibling as you save up money for bigger and better things. Instead, share an experience like how your favorite memory with your father was when he took you to your first baseball game or how you’ve got a great relationship with your brother because you’re a “family oriented” sort-of-guy.
Water it down… just enough.
